Yes! You can make vanilla extract with Grade A beans. The FDA formula for making vanilla extract with Grade A vanilla beans requires a minimum of 15 ounces of beans to 1 gallon of alcohol solution in which the content of ethyl alcohol by volume amounts to not less than 35 percent—like Vodka, various types of rum, bourbon, or pure ethyl alcohol.

When to Use

  • Cooking, baking & desserts

Indonesian Grade A vanilla beans, planifolia are mellow and impart a lingering vanilla accent with traditional creamy, smooth, and sweet flavor notes. Their creamy taste and savory fragrance make them an excellent addition to custards, puddings, yogurts, ice cream, sauces, and cakes.

Our Ambient-Air Packaging

We have chosen to package our vanilla in ambient air packaging. The reason is that vacuum packaging can create an environment for anaerobic bacteria to grow. The second reason is that vanilla will continue to cure and develop flavor in natural air.
